Marina Ignarski Designs aims to create harmonious art and whimsical textiles to brighten up your home and wardrobe.
My aim is to show my vision of the world through my love of vibrant colour and enthralling textures. Each piece of artwork and textiles stems from my flight of fancy. All my designs are inspired by my immense love for animals and nature. An exotic childhood spent traveling between Hong kong, London and the Isle of Wight has allowed me to expand my horizons and holds great influence in my work.
My paintings will liven up an empty wall and add a sense of escapism from a long arduous day. As a professionally trained artist, I use many techniques I have learnt, in combination with own self taught methods which involve building dramatic layers to a subject and adding essential shadows to give the paintings a sense of depth. Each brushstroke compliments the other and is there purposely. By using watercolour and oil paint in separate subjects, this allows me to explore a range brush techniques with impelling results.
Some bespoke designs are turned into captivating silk scarves, which allow designs to be wearable works of art. Each silk scarf is lovingly made in Britain from opulent silk chiffon and silkcott. Digitally printed onto sheer fabric, this allows the painting to come to life when worn as a fashion ensemble. Scarves are finished with an elegant machine hem and branded label. My scarves are heirloom pieces which are designed to be passed down the generations and will stand the test of time when looked after.
Commissions are available on request and involve a range of animating subjects from pet portraits, wedding stationary, figure illustrations, bespoke fabric designs, quirky house illustrations and many more. I also welcome original challenging ideas.
