Anglo-American designer Marina Ignarski grew up in the bustling cities of Hong Kong and London. She studied at London College of Fashion (Foundation) and the University of the West of England, where she earned a 2:1 degree in Fashion and Textile Design. In September 2018 Marina completed a Masters Degree in Critical Creative Practice from Southampton Solent University. She also has a PGCE in Design and Technology from UWE.

In 2009 Marina gained valuable industry experience at Anna Sui in New York. She was drawn to the attractive prints she observed at traders in the Garment District. During this time, she learnt how to conduct fit meetings, pattern cut and make connections with textile traders. This inspired her to create Marina Ignarski Designs in 2010 which started out as a textile studio and progressed onto a business where Marina sold both paintings and textiles. She has enjoyed teaching in both schools as well as teaching adults how to create artwork.

Marina has extensive print knowledge and has previously worked as freelance textile designer for Jocasta Bullock Design Studio who’s contacts include Alice and Olivia, Donna Karen and Diane Von Furstingberg. A series of her print collections were exhibited at trade show Indigo in Paris during 20011-2012. She has also attended Indigo under her own label, in New York showcasing her surface patterns to the American market.

Following on from her Masters Degree fashion show, Marina set up her own fashion label, Marina Ignarski in September 2018 with the aim to produce luxury ‘slow fashion’  in the hope of helping bring awareness to environmental impacts of the fashion industry. She has had success creating bespoke garments for clients as well as selling her Prêt-à-porter through her online shop.
