Wedding dress
For my wedding I designed and made a dress from two different silks. For the upper I used a plain silk with a bespoke machine-embroidered butterfly on the back from my own design to represent spreading your wings. The lower part of the dress was constructed from silk embroidered and embellished with a flower design. It was fully lined on the inside.
To decorate the venue, I hand-painted a floral backdrop using silk-painting ink for the flowers and gold paint to outline. The table runner was digitally printed from a floral design created from water colour paintings that were individually scanned and printed for our wedding stationary and table place-names. Lastly, I used dried flowers stitched to netting in embroidery hoops.
